REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Retail Sales Associate position involves filling customers’ orders for bread and baked goods. Assisting customers with any questions and providing backup assistance to the packaging team.

Main Duties and Activities:

• Finish baking pastries in the mornings.
• Ensure that the customers are served in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Operate cash registers and credit card machines when customers purchase bakery items.
• Arrange cakes, pies, muffins, rolls, and other baked goods in an attractive manner in the display cases, shelves, and counters.
• Make sure that displays are filled with products and not low on merchandise or empty.
• Ensure displayed baked goods are fresh and remove any that could have become stale.
• Assemble frozen pizza to be sold.
• Verify that customers who have communicated food allergies are not sold products that could be dangerous to their health.
• Keep work areas sanitary i.e. mopping floors, wiping counters, cleaning up spills and debris.
• Manage spoilage, turnovers, and inventory of goods.
• Assist packaging staff with packaging, labelling of baked goods.
• Provide services to meet a high level of customer satisfaction.

Experience and Skills Required:

• Ability to complete customer order forms completely and file each one properly so that every order is filled on time.
• Dexterity and technical ability necessary to operate a cash register, credit card machine, computer and pricing gun.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, as well as open and close heavy freezer and oven doors.
• Ability to endure long hours of standing and walking, moving around counters, and bending to retrieve baked goods from display counters.
• Excellent communication skills and be willing to work with the public.
• Ability to be patient with customers who are dissatisfied and understand when it is necessary to request assistance from a supervisor.

REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

The Production Assistant work consists of assisting and helping in the preparation and production of various bakery products. Under limited guidance of the Production Supervisor, a Production Assistant may be required to mix ingredients and shape dough, prepare, and bake the bread and other bakery prepared goods;

Main Duties and Activities:

• Assist and help in the preparation and production of products by company specifications and instructions in the required time frame
• Treat and process raw materials and ingredients (flour, oil, sugar, yeast, water, etc.)
• Cook any ingredients required for making breads
• Prepare and shape different dough and mixtures according to production recipes under baker supervision if required
• Help in the bakery or customer service when required
• Communicate with Packaging and Delivery departments as required; notify Office Manager of any issues with orders
• Clean, maintain and make simple repairs to machinery and equipment used in bakery
• Support and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety and preventative maintenance programs.
• Cleans the equipment used in baking process when needed.
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance, with respect to food hygiene.

Experience and Skills Required:

• The candidate must be able to work independently.
• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read, speak and write English so as to assimilate, retain, and apply training and knowledge of job functions and recognize and communicate problems and recommended solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate verbally, and understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Technical skills in preparation and handling of all kind of bakery products
• Ability to handle weight up to 50 lb.
• Able to break down and reassemble equipment as needed for cleaning and maintenance purposes.
• Working experience in a bakery and general knowledge of mixing and pastry production is a plus.

REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

This position is responsible for filling, packing, and sealing product in accordance with process and quality standards so as to meet production schedules assigned.

Main Duties and Activities:

• Slice, fill, seal, and package product into clean containers 
• Print labels and date code correctly
• Load and label pallets correctly
• Distinguish acceptable product from unacceptable product
• Document all required paperwork such as Batch Sheets and delivery forms.
• Achieve 100% daily schedule conformance
• Maintain a clean work area at all times – All equipment and work areas must be kept organized, clean and sanitary throughout the shift
• All mechanical failures or missing packaging, etc. should be reported to the supervisor immediately
• Ensure proper materials are being used and documented with accuracy (label inserts, papers, and fillings)
• Maintain cleanliness up to FDA and state standards
• End of shift requires removal of any waste and garbage generated during the shift
• Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment and tools
• Report any injury, accident, and/or unsafe condition immediately to supervisor.
• Support and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety and preventative maintenance programs

Experience and Skills Required:

• The candidate must be able to work independently and, in a team, environment
• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read, speak and write English to assimilate, retain, and apply training and knowledge of job functions and recognize and communicate problems and recommended solutions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to communicate verbally, and understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Technical skills in preparation and handling of a variety of bakery products
• Ability to handle weight up to 50 lbs.
• Able to break down and reassemble equipment as needed for cleaning and maintenance purposes
• Production/packaging experience a plus

REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Farmers Market Sales Associate position involves filling customers’ orders for bread and baked goods at the market. Assisting customers with any questions and keeping a plentiful display of baked goods at the site.

Main Duties and Activities:

• Place market materials and bakery products into vehicle
• Check for appropriate cash box change prior to market start
• Proper set up and breakdown of designated area at the market
• Ensure that the customers are served in a friendly and efficient manner
• Keep bakery products in a plentiful and attractive display throughout the market session
• Provide services to meet a high level of customer satisfaction
• Count cash box and inventory at the end of the market session
• Return materials to bakery and put in their appropriate spot

Experience and Skills Required:

• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects
• Ability to handle difficult customers with patience and ease
• Ability to stand for a long period of time
• Customer service experience a plus
• Clean driving record.
• License and ability to drive a cargo van

REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Delivery Driver will make selected deliveries of baked goods in a safe and timely manner.

Main Duties and Activities:

• Select orders to be delivered
• Efficiently deliver selected orders
• Communicate with Delivery Manager
• Keep delivery area and vehicle clean and organized

Experience and Skills Required:

• The candidate must be able to work independently.
• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read, speak and write, assimilate, retain, and apply training and knowledge of job functions and recognize and communicate problems and recommended solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate verbally, and understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Technical skills in handling variety of bakery products
• Possess excellent communication skills
